Larger tires

Not true in my case, I had 7" rims on my Terra, Sears wouldn't put 30/9.5s
on it for me, they told me they would be too big and I needed to buy new
rims. The "nice" (only) ones in the showroom were a mere $239 a piece.
Nice try sales guy! I insisted they mount the tires anyway and shortly
after bought a set of used Bronco 8" 10 whole Chrome jobs for $25 for the
set at a swap meet. A little steel wool, and I was good to go.
There are different rims for disk brake versus drum brake versions
though. The disk brake caliper needs more clearance than the drum brake
wheels can offer. My Nightmare continued at Sears when they mixed up the
wheels after mounting and balancing the new tires and they put a drum brake
wheel on the front and couldn't figure out why the the wheel was locked up.
I don't really blame them, why would they expect to see mismatched wheels,
but once I realized what was wrong I wanted to rip the impact wrench out of
Yah-hoo's hands beat him with it, fix my wheels and drive over him while
making tracks for the sales guy. I wish I had my own tire mounting and
balance machine, I wouldn't have had that nightmare. Maybe when I win the
lottery, or do you have to play to win???? ;)
