Tony,
I took mine to the local Panzer mechaninc. He has the Bosch diagnosis
machine that plugs into the cable at the ABS box. He measured reduced signal
from my right front sensor. I was unable to differentaite a low signal
condition using an oscilliscope and turning the wheel by hand. The problem
is that a reduced signal level eventually falls below threshold at low speed
and the abs kicks in. He claims this due to corrosion in the hub squeezing
the sensor. Maybe. I tried removing the sensor and wire brushing the hole in
the hub - no change
I have two used sensors coming, so I'll try playing around (when it warms up
here in Tropical Canada). I thought I might try repositioning (shimming) the
sensor so its closer to the hub, and/or getting more aggresive cleaning the
hub. I'll report in when it warms up here, and I get the gas tank replaced.
It oughta stop snowing by July.

Subject: ABS problems - E28
Hi, I'm the other ABS problem on Bimmernut with an E28 that had no power,
I now have power and my sensors all check out with approx. 130 ohms, but now
the light comes on at very low speeds. My front pulse wheels appear to be OK
but my rears have a fair bit of rust. I have cleaned them all but still the
same. Any luck with your problems that might point me in a direction? Any
ideas about how bad the pulse wheels have to be before they are not read by
the sensors?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony Doig
