RE:Stumbling at low RPMs

I recently cured a problem with my 88 535 (E28) where the car would
surge/stumble between 2000 and 3000 RPM. I replaced the AFM (twice, the
first one was defective) and then had my mechanic adjust the flap tension
and idle mixture. Ran better but still wasn't cured. Then discovered the cap
had a deteriorating center electrode. It took a while to fid that because it
only had 35K on it so I assumed it was good. With the new cap and rotor it
runs like a champ again.
