BMW uses Plastilube, and they'll sell you a tiny plastic pouch (enough for 
one axle, if used sparingly), for about $2.  Get at least three pouches if 
you're going to do all four corners of the car.

You can buy a large tube of SilGlide, which is the same type of lube, from 
the mass market parts stores (Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys. etc).
