Terry,
Bentley is indeed overly paranoid about unplugging the battery every time
you sneeze while working on the car.
I can't recall the last time I truly needed to unplug the battery other
than to replace it. That is unless you are working with fuel (sparks are
bad) or are in the habit of manhandling harness connectors into wrong
receptacles.
