94 325is questions

Guys,
i have a few problems maybe someone can help me...

1. a/c cluster will not iluminate...
i removed it and i see the bulb soldered to the circuit board.. thanks bmw, how do i replace the light bulb without replacing the whole thing...? if i do replace it, could i get the digital one that they put on later models?

2. sport power seat back will not recline...
the mechanic says that the whole seat frame needs to be replaced...($950) ouch... the motor runs and obviously the gears are broken... why replace the whole seat frame? does anyone have seat parts for sale?
