You missed my point.......Changing the fluid may not help.

This model ZF5HP30 5 speed  computer controlled trans.........seems  to break
at 80-100K miles from what I have seen. The question is : is the failure caused
by the "lifetime" fluid or the is it a hardware failure ? In the same space
that was originally a  3 speed auto trans , they made a 4 speed auto trans and
then they made a  5 speed auto in the same space .....So things got smaller and
Engine torque inputs keep going up......

What I am suggesting is that it may be more of a hardware failure than a
"lifetime" fluid  issue.
The fluid may not be the problem........

The transmission rebuilders are not recommending that you change the "lifetime"
fluid on this trans.....
either....... :
