E34 525i OBC Relearning settings

I recently disconnected my battery to have it replaced with a new one. As
such the OBC lost all its optimal
settings so the idle is rough now. I understand that the OBC is a self
learning system and will learn back the
optimal settings, we just need to leave the car running with the A/C
running. Is there any faster way to get the
OBC to learn the settings once again, I notice that it takes quite a long
time for the OBC to learn the settings.
Can we drive the car as per normal or does it have to be at idle in order
for the OBC to relearn the settings?.
