Phantom (what's your real name?),
99.9% it is just the relay. Replacing it is very simple:
1. Go the dealer and pick up a replacement. You could re-solder the old
relay, but it will fail again.
2. remove the firewall cover from the engine side
3. remove the blower cover held in place by two plastic ties
4. find the relay in the middle of the blower box and replace it.

Hello. Recently, I discovered that my blower fan will only turn on when
the fan switch is turned
to the highest position. I'd like to rule out the relay and/or the switch
before replacing the
actual fan. Does the fact that the fan still operates at the high setting,
make anyone believe
that the switch is faulty or the relay is malfunctioning? Next problem:
the whereabouts of the
relay switch for the fan on a 1987 325.
