An electrical gremlin

I discovered I have a parasitic draw on my battery from fuse 33 in my
E36 ('92 325i).

This covers the windows and compartment light. When I pull the fuse,
the draw disappears. I replaced my driver's side switch because that
was acting funny, but the draw is still there.

One thing I notice is that when I pull this fuse, the lights on my
window switches stay on...all the other three windows work, but the
driver's window doesn't go up and down (though it's switch is lighted).

Could it really be wired like this, or could this indicate the sourse of
my short is probably in that switch connector. And, if it is, is there
any chance of actually repairing it, vs. ripping up everything in the
care to replace a whole wiring harness or something?

Any URLs on diagnosing the source of such shorts...don't really want to
pay for the dealer to take three hours to troubleshoot this.

Thanks folks!

Doug
