First, try cold. Apply an icecube to the sap and then try to flake or brush
it off. Same as you would use to remove bubblegum from clothes.
As a last resort, I might try heat. Boiling water at first. If that
doesn't work, maybe a hair dryer.
I say last resort because the risk with heat is getting it runny and soiling
a larger area than the original spot.
