91 325ic Oxidation

I have minor oxidation on the hood and trunk of my 1991 325ic.
There is a dull appearance and you can see many water spots.  I've
just waxed the car this weekend and those areas I did twice.  They
showed considerable improvement.  I want them to be as shiny as the rest of
the beautiful car.  Anyone have recommendations on
the correction of the problem and the prevention of it continuing.
