yeah, rear shock mounts are worn out.  This is a well known problem with 
the E36 cars.  My dealer (Russel BMW near Balto MD) wants $330 to replace 
both mounts.  I told them to hold off on this repair for time being.  I 
might go with the E46 based solution mentioned on the UUC web site....
