E28 Air Conditioning/Climate Control Question

Greetings everyone,

The ventilation system in my 84 533i has a mind of its own...  After about 20 
minutes of air conditioning (a/c), the air flow shifts from the the dash 
vents above the stereo to the vents that are by my knees.  I'd rather it kept 
coming out the vents above the stereo and can't figure out what switch to 
throw to make that happen. 

What's the secret password needed to make the air stay coming out the vents 
above the stereo?  What am I missing?
