E30 warning light

Hello:
I have a 1989 E30 325IX, and the overhead check oil light is on, despite a
fresh oil change and proper oil levels in the motor. Is this indicative of a
bad sensor? Is this something that can easily be replaced? Any help is
appreciated. TIA
