Re: chip upgrades?

Speaking of upgrades:

I'd like to do a chip upgrade (I've a '96 328ia), but I can't live without
my car (being
a Californian and all that entails).

Are there any chip upgrades out there that don't require sending
the ECU out like the BavAuto chip? I'm aware of Dinan, but are there others?

Thanks,
