Brushes for Car Washing

The Bavarian Autosport catalog that hit my mailbox last week carries
several Oxo brushes - that's the company that makes those kitchen knives
with the big, soft, comfortable handles - for car/wheel/tire washing.
The ad claims that the brush bristles have been "engineered for a
specific job" - soft for washing the body, softer for alloy wheels, and
stiffer for cleaning tires.
The large car brush is $22.00.
Anyone used these? Care to comment on them? Do they do the job w/o
scratching the finish? They'd be particularly nice in the winter when it's
not too cold to wash the car, but nonetheless damn uncomfortable sticking
your hands in a bucket of cold water.
Many thanks,
Seeker
