99 325is leak

With all the rain in California, I have developed a leak around the rear of
the deck on the passenger side.  I tightened up the trunk mechanism to get a
tighter seal, but still have a leak.

Is the answer 'a new seal' ?? or is there someother way water can get into the
trunk??
