540iA Performance Chip

Who makes the best performance chip for a 1994 540iA?  I will guess that
it's the Jim C but who sells those chips now?  Do I really need the
transmission chip?  The car seems to have several characters depending on
how hard you press on the gas.  In addition, it's a completely different car
when you place the auto in "4" or "S" gear.

And what can I expect in the way of torque and HP increase?  How much and at
what RPM?
