What model? E34

Mike:

Your car is an E34. They were available in the US from 1989 to early 1996.
My first Five was a '92 E34 525i and, like yours, didn't have headrests in
the rear. One of the car magazines commented about that once, saying they
were surprised that with BMW's attention to safety, the lack of rear
headrests was curious.

My '88 Mercedes 190e 2.3 didn't have headrests either, which I thought was
weird, given the MB folks' fanaticism about safety. My '85 Peugeot 505 DID
have them -- that was a really nice car; too bad Peugeot couldn't make it in
the US market.

=> Mitch (current Five is a 2000 540i/6)
