Ok guys, the people who wanted the mats that say ///M like the E36 mats do 
from 98 on. I have spoken with George Wilson who designs custom made mats for 
any car and we discussed the design of the original mats from my E36 M3  and 
he said it was no a problem to make the mats and I have personally placed an 
order with him before and swear by his work.
