Re: Kleen Wheels on a 95 740i (NOT!)

Thanks for some of your responses. I learned from you, so far, that the
Kleen Wheels covering these "pretty rotors" would look "fugly" as one gent
put it. I learned that the rotors are attractive, and we shouldn't cover
them up! I never would have thought of that - I was more into the desperate
act of ridding my wheels of the ugly brake dust. I didn't even consider the
fact of just how unattractive these black, rotor-hiding Kleen Wheels would
look. Many of you mentioned that all I need to do is to get some
"Repco/Axxis/PBR" pads, or Mintex, or anything but stock.... and that would
solve my problem. Problem is, they STILL don't make a pad to fit my car
correctly. I confirmed this with Bavarian Auto this morning - he stated
"Sir, no, they still don't have anything that will fit your car..... other
than P21S cleaning formula. I suggest you buy alot of it and keep it in
your trunk and hose down your wheels every other day or so". Problem is,
just hosing the wheels down will not clean them! You need the dreaded elbow
grease too. So I guess I'm left back at square one - waiting for
Repco/PBR/Axxis to get their s**t together and build me my better mousetrap,
eh urh brake pad. Geez, what a niche market.... the guy at Bavarian Auto
said they get many, many calls from E38 owners looking for a brake dust
"free" pad like the ones available for most other BMW models, but they can't
help them. They just sell them some more P21S solution and send them on
their unmerry way. I know, it's not the life crushing problem of all time,
but I'm sick of the election news and find this subject of interest to me,
at least. Wishing you all in the bitter cold, snowier regions a safe,
accident free, driveable winter.
Cheers,
Steve Robinson
