A few questions E36

Hello fellow Bimmers. Hope all is having a good weekend!

I just have a few questions and concerns regarding my 97 328i.

1. I bought my bimmer used. I understand that the radio has a security code
that must be entered when the battery is disconnected? I have no idea what
this code is, so my question is, how can I find this out? I'm assuming the
dealer could possiby help me out?

2. Where should my temp guage sit when the car is fully warmed up? Mine is not
consistent at all.. sometimes it's at 1/4 the way up and sometimes it's as
high as 1/2. Is my car overheating or overcooling?

3. I'm thinking about using Mobil 1 Synthetic oil on my future oil changes. Is
this a good idea, and what viscosity should I be using in cold canadian
climates?
