Re: bmw-digest V9 #1644

I'd say it takes me a good 10 seconds of cranking with the throttle slightly
depressed to get the car to start when cold. The car starts hesitantly.
Almost like it doesn't start but then it comes to life. The idle is bumpy.
The tach doesn't really move much, but the idle goes rough, then smooth,
rough, then smooth.

I also got incredibly bad mileage on my first tank of gas (16.5 mpg), but
that might be because I've been driving in a rather spirited manner. I just
filled up and I'll see what happens with this tank.

I took care of the ball joints and control arm bushings. $1,700 first
service. Ouch.
