'89 325iX problems



Took my new, old '89 325iX in to a good BMW mechanic.  Spent $1,000 on new
timing belt, head bolts and rear exhaust.

Mechanic has pointed out a few other items that need attention but aren't
immediate dangers.

1) Ball joints are worn. ($600)
2) Injectors (don't know how many yet) leaking. ($108 each plus labour)

All $ in Canadian funds.

Am I endangering myself or the car by delaying these items?  Should I bite
the bullet and take care of them now?  Are any of these DIY items for
someone with mechanical sense (ie. can follow a manual) but little
experience?
