You can more easily test the fuel pump operation by jumpering a relay in
the fuse panel under the hood. The relay is energized only if the engine
is turning, activating the fuel pump. This may be through the AFM as Gary
suggests or some other signal, I'm not sure. The Bentley manual tells you
how. I'd elaborate but since I just moved I can't find my Bentley manual
right now!
