e34 wiring guru needed ?

Hi,
I installed an aftermarket head unit in my e34 535i and notice two problems
I'm hoping an electrical RKI can help with;

first while driving with headlights on, when turning radio off- headlights
go off- re-toggling the light switch re-activates the lights (doesn't impact
radio)

Now- right low beam is out (bulb ok)- I get NO ERROR message from BMW
computer.

radio doesn't seem to affect headlights now that the right low beam is
out........

thoughts and ideas ?
