Caliper problem?

Three new sets of rotors in two years because of a shimmy in my '92
325i.  Last ones 4 months old and wobbling the steering wheel in braking
and minimally while driving.

Today, BMW mechs had it up on the lift.  No ball joint problem,
suggested calipers...which were cleaned with the last rotors.  Can
calipers go bad to the point that a good cleaning won't fix binding?

Anything else might explain rotors warping so soon?
