It sounds like you got screwed on that first tranny rebuild. You could
have bought a new for that much, or low mileage used one for half that
much from Zionsville Autosport.
That blue book price was prolly for a car with a clean title (no
salvage), and seems a bit high at that. Average high retail per
www.nada.com is just under $5k. Per Kelly Blue Book (always high) is
$5.5k.
