Paint

I recently bought a 1998 328i. After owning it for a couple of weeks I noticed in my garage under fluorescent/tungsten lights that the paint was slightly darker on the rear body panels. Obviously it had been repainted but it wasn't noticeable under daylight. I was wondering if anyone knows why this is the case and if there is a way to make the new paint appear like the old paint.
