Hi Tomas,

I had the same problem a few weeks ago on my E34 when the battery died.
Sometimes the manual override
needs a little 'try and error' to get it working. Normally its turn the key
then lift the handle and that should open
the lock. However like on my E34, it didn't work, eventiually I got it
working by turning and lifting the handle at
the same time. So it is a little bit of trial and error and finding that
right spot to turn and lift the handle. Keep
trying, it will eventually work.
