Re: 528e idle problems



Check the following:

coolant temp sensor, check the resistance across contacts (see Bentley manual). These often
go bad (don't give enough resistance when coolant is cold, tricking the computer into
thinking the engine is already warm), which could easily cause the bogging down you mention.

Check ALL rubber parts on your air intake (bellows, etc.) squeeze them to look for cracks
and check clamps to make sure seal is good - will cause floating idle if air is getting in
after the flow meter.

These are a couple of the easier things to check and some of the more likely culprits, but
certainly not the only possible causes.
