ABS light coming on at high speeds

The ABS light on the dash would go on now and then when driving over rough
road surfaces.
I've just replaced the two front ABS sensors as one of these was damaged.
The rear sensors were cleaned as there was no apparent damage.
Now this ABS light goes on and stays on after hitting 160kph (100mph).
When you switch on the engine again the light is off and of course goes on
at 160kph!
The local BMW garage is baffled.
Maybe someone on the digest could help?

Another digester about 1 yr ago had a similar problem. Turns out that he had 
installed slightly different sized tires on the front and the rear, and at 
high speeds the rotational speed difference was enough that the ABS computer 
thought something was wrong. Also, the mechanic got a speeding ticket while 
reproducing the problem!

Something else to try.
