E34 Suspension UPgrade

Out of curiosity, anyone out there changed the front end suspension of a E34
525i 12 valve M20 to the suspension of
an E34 525i M50 24 valve?. I understand that the upper mountings of the
shock absorbers are different in the M20 and M50
E34's. The M50 shocks strut bearing is larger and it uses a 22mm nut as
opposed to a 19mm nut for the M20.
Would like to know what is involved in this change and if any modifications
is needed to the upper mountings.
Apprecaite any advice/feeback on this. Thanks.
