I just struck the wrench (I used a Park bicycle headset wrench, BTW)
with a hammer as recommended by Brett A. It only took a few hits.
BIG WARNING: loosen the hoseclamp on the upper rad hose where it goes into
the thermostat housing and twist it out of the way. If you don't and you
hit it, you can break the cheesy plastic housing.
