In an OHC engine, the cam is located in the top of the cylinder head, so
pushrods are not needed to operate the rockers and valves. This reduces
the number and weight of valve train parts, and allows for the valves to be
placed at an angle to improve airflow, (the engine is essentially an air
pump.) This results in greater efficiency and thus power output at higher
rpms.
