Mark,

This happened to me, my e30 was stuck in the parking lot of a local coffee 
shop for several hours. I had power at the relay but no fuel. Luckily. I 
could get AAA to tow it to where I work.

I found my problem at a crimped connection in the wiring harness under the 
back seat, directly behind the drivers seat. Water had seeped in from a 
leaky trunk and the connection had corroded to the point of failure. First 
pull the back seat out, then lift the mat that covers the wiring. With all 
the wire bundles exposed it's time for a careful inspection.
