The Leading Edge 3M Film

Anyone have experience with "The Leading Edge 3M Protective Film?" 
They claim it is invisible paint protection, a 8 mil sheet of 3M 
film, clear coated with UV protection, and guaranteed to protect your 
paint for 4 years or they'll pay to fix the damage.

I guess my question is, how much if any does it detract from the 
glossy finish of the car? Does it make cleaning the car easier/harder?

I was very disappointed with how the paint held up in my Mazda, I 
mean it's still as shiney as it was on day one, but there are tons of 
little chips and scratches all over, and I didn't drive it much or in 
conditions that should have been a danger to it. So I'm kind of 
worried about my BMW, I happened to see this brochure today and 
thought I'd check it out.

I'd consider it for the whole car, or maybe just more damage prone 
sections, but not if it's going to make the paint noticably less 
glossy or anything.
