oh, i just thought of another battery drain,
the auto radio aerial, if the rubber grommet has lost its seal, broken,
etc, water will run down the mast guide, into the motor, 

there are built in weap holes for water to drain from , but....

open and inspect, remove water , spay with wd-40, etc to displace
moisture

and before doing all of the above, place meter in line, with battery,
read, disconnect electricle fittings to aeriel, read meter again
