Carbon depostis on pistons HAPPENS! Wow, a new bumper sticker slogan.
It's amazing how quickly the stuff accumulates. Ever wonder why it doesn't
continue to just build-up until the piston cannot reach top-dead-center??
As the build-up occurs, it raises the compression ratio, which increases
the squeeze & temp and pings (bad with poor gas). With a raise in the burn
temp, it burns back the residue, and you stabilize with just so much atop
the piston.
If you're running good gas, gently (without pinging) run it to 5-6000 rpm.
Leave it there for a few seconds. Do this a few times daily.......hourly
if you enjoy it. Does it respond better each time?? If so, continue
treatment until it feels so good you feel guilty.
