Suspension Rattle on E-36

Hey Everybody,

Here is my dilema:  I have a metal knocking noise coming from the right-rear
of my car.  The dealer has checked it today and believes it to be a bad
shock in the rear.  I had the Cat replaced under warranty last month and
upon return I noticed the noise.  The dealer checked everything and found
nothing wrong.

Today they say it is this particular shock.  The noise sounds like metal on
metal banging, not a squishy sound and there are no leaks from the shock
either.  Anybody ever have this problem?

The shocks are bilstein sports and had a life time warranty.  No warranty
now cause the car is lowered via an Eibach pro-kit.

Currently my suspension has the following  gear:
Bilstein Sport Monotube struts
Bilstein Sport shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
LTW x-brace
BMP C/F Strut tower bar
Eibach Sway-bars with urethane bushings
18" Hamann HMII w/ Pirelli P7000 wrappers @ 225/40ZR18

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

This is my THIRD set of rear shocks in 2 years.  AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!
