E36 Climate Control and OBC short term memory loss

The last feature selected doesn't stay when you turn the car off because
every time you start the car the on board computer does a check, and if
everything is in working order i.e.engine oil low, brake lamp, etc. the
screen will be off.  A good way to save time it takes to press the temp
button on the obc is to program the select button located on the signal
lever.  Push the button in for a few seconds and you are ready to select the
items you want and the order they will appear in (i.e.: push-in temp, range
and consump1, then hit set)Now every time you push in the select button you
will see temp. If you push it in twice you will see range, and push it in
three times you will see consump1.  Hope that this was helpful
