Idle erratic 85 528e

I am hoping someone can help me trouble shoot a problem I have been
having with my 85 528e 127k miles. When car is in park or neutral the
idle will pulse between 800 and 1000 rpm. Also when I pull away or
accelerate the car will hesitate real bad. Any suggestions?
