warm start

Hello Listers,
I wonder if anyone has experience with a warm start or heat soak condition.
I have an E34 M50 wagon '92, it starts great hot or cold but has great
difficulty
starting when warm, after a 15 to 20 minute cool down.
I've checked all the obvious things, air mass, throttle switch I even tried
heat
gunning the crank and cam sensors to see if there was a resistance change
at elevated temperature, no dice.
I fear the worst.........main ECU.
Anyone have similar experiences?
All suggestions appreciated.
