Double-lock and alarms

Hello folks,

Well, after a very unpleasant break-in, it's time to arm my E30 ///M3 so
that this does not happen again. I have ordered a Clifford Concept 200
alarm from my local stereo shop. It will be about a week before they get it
in and I take my car up there to get it installed. In the meanwhile I
figured I' d get a jump-start on finding information about getting this
alarm to work with the double-lock feature.

I have seen many posts regarding this but have always just browsed through
them since I never thought I would have to worry about it. I know that some
folks say it is not possible to get an alarm to use the double-lock feature
on our cars, and others say that you can because they have succeeded in
doing so. Those of you that have, please educate me on how you succeeded.
I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, can someone give me a run-down on exactly what the double-lock feature
does other than make it impossible to unlock the car from any door other
than the driver's side? I know it is supposed to provide more security, but
I never have been quite clear as to how this is true.

All information is muchly appreciated.
