I just bought the new Yokohama AVS Sports for my 95 M3 running stock 
rims.  A relative bargain for "ultra high performance" tires (about 
$160 a piece instead of $250 for Pilots or Pole Positions), and I'm 
very happy with them - very quiet, great in the rain, lot of fun on 
off-ramps, stable on the highway.  Tire Rack had favorable reviews on 
them as well.
