Locked out of E34 M5
There is a "trick" to unlocking the doors on an E34 with a dead battery.
You must insert the key into the PASSENGER door, and then simultaneously
turn the key to the unlock position, and pull the door handle. This is
a somewhat difficult procedure, but it will work if you pull and turn
just right. If you have trouble, try doing it very quickly, or slowly.
With the quick method you sometimes get lucky, and if you do it slowly
you can actually feel the parts align as you turn the key. if that
fails, there is also another trick that we used at the dealership I
worked at. we actually hooked up power to the trunk light socket, which
in turn fed the power locks. This is a neat trick but you must remember
to disconnect the power right after unlocking, and before opening any
doors(the lights will come on and may blow a fuse, or worse)
