bmw alarm

The alarm is usually pre wired into your car when it is made. The only
things you get for your $495 are the siren, motion detector, and glass
detector.
I personally do not think its worth it. I had the dealer program my e46 to
have all of the lights flash when arming/disarming. Can you honestly say
that an alarm with sound is a deterrent??

But if you are spending extra $$ on a new stereo, then you may feel
compelled to go with a 3rd party. It's all up to you. I hate alarms.

As for the options that go with your key, as long as you keep the key and
use a different 'fob' for the alarm (3rd party), you can still retain all of
the programmable options. ie dtr lights, seat memory, etc.

Also, $495 is a rip. Go to www.pacificbmw.com or www.circlebmw.com and buy
the alarm for a couple of hundred $ and pay the dealer the time to install.
You'll save some bucks.
