Re: Problem M6

Hi Mike,
Had the same problem with my 535i. It was the secondary fuel pump (forget
the name right now and to lazy to go look in the manual for the right name)
in the fuel tank. It's the pump that builds a reserve of pressure for things
like starting the car and when cornering. It's easy to get to, just go in
the trunk, lift the carpet up and you'll see a black disc with screws.
Remove it run the car and you should hear a noise if it's working properly.
Often the connector rust so you may want to wiggle it a bit and see if it's
intermittent. Make to check the pump connector. The other one is for the
fuel gage.
Good luck

Marc
