glass dealer cost is less than $100 - installing maybe a bit tricky. - what
I'm saying is - barter. if you call around, you will find a glass shop that
will do the work for the price you're willing to pay; which should be ~$200
with installation. It took an hour for a professional to do the door glass
on my e30 M3. 

if you have insurance with a low deductible (~ $50-$100) - contact a local
glass shop, they may be able to "waive" your deductible - that means that
they subtract and "pay" the cost of your deductible from the bill they send
to the insurance company. 

I did some computer work for a glass dealer and the profit margins they took
a few years back were astronomical. They charged insurance companies over a
$1000 for an $80 piece of glass. 

Lastly, glass claims in most states are a NO FAULT claim. That means that
your insurance rates CANNOT go up.
